To prevent burn-back when you are finished cooking, the pellets will need to be removed from the firepot.
- Turn the temperature to the lowest setting so that there will not be a large fire in the firepot when you shut the grill down.
- Turn the P setting to the highest setting to slow down the delivery of the pellets.
Another method is to turn the grill off and wait several minutes for the pellets in the firepot to burndown. Turn the grill back on for 30 seconds to run any pellets which might be smoldering in the auger delivery system into the firepot.
Ensuring that all of the pellets are removed from the firepot and nothing is left smoldering will help prevent burn backs.
